New Embroidered Coat

New embroidered coat that I made for my brother for X-mas.  Its a bit different than my own, much bigger too.

This one is mine that I made about a year ago.

I'm hoping to bust a few more out in the next couple months, so I'll be posting my pics soon!

Make your own dress form

I've never really messed around with making garments.  The patterns always look really difficult and it seems to have little margin for error.  I always thought if I was gonna get into it I would buy a dress form.  I was pretty flabberghasted when I seen how expensive they were...Holy cow!  Anyways I stumbled upon this really awesome tutorial on how to make your own dress form exactly your size. AMAZING!

How cool is that???  So easy and cheap.  Check out the full directions at Personalized Fashion

DIY Honey Lip Balm

I am soo gonna try this!  All natural and it looks really easy.  HipHome used some very cute containers.  I think I'll use an old altoid tin.  Full directions at Hiphome.

Fabric Bow

Its November folks!  Time to start planning for those fabulous home made X-mas presents.  I'll be posting awesome pics of the presents I make this year as I get them done!!  Recipient names will be left off in case they are reading this blog.  I always try to get crafty with the wrapping as well.  Last year I did embroidery name tags, more pics here.  Soooo time consuming:(

Today I found a post on how to make fabric bows.  If you have as much scrap fabric as I do you'll know how perfect this is.  Super easy project, check out the full post on Whipper Berry.

So pretty.  Now I can finally get rid of all my scrap fabric!

Halloween face paint

So all the fuss that is Halloween, is over.  I'm not a big fan of dressing up.  It's expensive and sometimes very inconvenient depending on the weather.  But don't label me as a debbie downer just yet.  Even though I never dress up I do always paint my face.  This year at the last minute I found a Halloween post on neatorama that seemed easy enough to pull together the day of.

Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas!  I think it turned out really well, I was pretty happy with it.  The eyes started creasing during the night, but not bad.  I set the grease paint pretty well.  It was really hard to get off.  Two hours after getting to work the next day I realized I still had some paint on my face.

Happy Creeptastic Halloween
