New frontier

I've finally finished refinishing (kinda) the old chair I mentioned in this post.  I knew I wanted to do a chevron fabric, but instead of yellow I went with gray.
Here is the chair before

After my friend Adam had his baby he didn't have any room for it.  It's got nice bones, but man those cushion were HORRIFIC.

I only had to make a new cover.  Not crazy hard but still a challenge since this is a new one for me. The best part was making my own piping.

Pinning my fabric to the welt cord.

My zipper foot worked fine with the welt cord.  Not great.  If I do another project with piping, which I probably will, I will have to make sure to buy a welt cord foot.  All that hard work and my finished product is this beauty!!

She's so pretty and stylish.  I love it so much, I just want to sit in it all night.  Dorky, I know!  I bet you want this chair though, I just know it!  Well that's it for the chair but here are some pics of some upcoming projects.

More on those next week :)

Valentines Day

I seen so many awesome Valentine tutorials online in the past week, but the only thing that really caught my eye was a post by my friend Michael Paul.  His coworker made a cube person of this wife.  I didn't get as fancy as his, but I thought a cube card would be cool.  I googled paper cube pattern and saved this image.

I opened it up in photoshop and placed my pictures in the right places to get this.

Cut it out and added my Valentines day greeting and I got this.

And I seen this on Pinterest and couldn't help adding it!!! LOL

My EPIC bag!

This is the absolute LONGEST I've gone without making myself a new bag.  When I started this project I thought "I'm gonna keep this one forever, I'll never need another one" .  Sadly I've already thought of new ideas for a better bag.  Maybe I'll take it apart  to justify it.  The body is made of water proof vinyl canvas.  All the slime green material is cotton.  Inside body is made of canvas duck cloth.  So it goes without saying this is a pretty heavy duty bag.  Without further ado, my epic (for now) bag!

Flap with letters glued to hold into place while they are sewed on.

Inside pockets Loaded up with all my stuffs, loving the zipper pocket!

Inside lightning bolts, yes that's a pocket for my wrench!

All finished and ready to go!!!!  And if my cousin Rae is reading this I haven't forgot about you.  Your bag is in the works!

February Fabric Wish List

I have this old chair that I have been wanting to refinish for a while.  I think this chevron fabric is the perfect excuse to get that project going!

This vintage floral would be great for the siding.

This new Alexander Henry is amazing!!!

This would be another good choice for the sides of chair cushions.

I think I got a little yellow theme going on here!  Lets switch it up a bit, this and this from Stitch Craft Shop are very lovely.

All fabrics listed are from Etsy.com from various sellers.  If you didn't know Etsy sold fabric you should definitely check it out!!
